Day 14: Cibi
Day 14: Cibi
33-39 Keele St, Collingwood
Admittingly a lot of the places that have made up our Inktober series have been places that we enjoy as a couple. I’m generally the one that books things and has a running list of restaurants that we need to attend. Christian, I actually wouldn’t call a stereotypical Melbourne foodie, but what I quickly learnt about him in our early years, to get him excited, give the boy or take him anything or anywhere Japanese related and you have yourself the perfect gift or day out.
CIBI for Christian is THE place. He’s got all the store merch and everything. Way back when Christian used to work around the corner so it was his go-to for daily coffees and would eventually make his way back there with me for breakfasts and lunches on the weekend.
To say that we were regulars is putting it lightly.
The diehard fans that we are found us in Japan in 2023 for our honeymoon, first time there for me but third for Christian (Japanese obsessed, remember) and on his to-do list for Tokyo was to visit the CIBI there. And we did. The small but mighty cafe in Tokyo was probably one of his trip highlights.
One day we may even do our own little CIBI series but today, it’s all about CIBI Melbourne in Collingwood
Melbournians, have you been to CIBI before?
